Gods Honorable Design for Fathers (Ex 20:12)
Father's Day Sunday we are still in a series on the Ten Commandments and we will look at #5B “Honor your father (and mother). Then you will live a long, full life in the land the LORD your God is giving you.” Exodus 20:12. God gives fathers the opportunity to live WELL. When they pursue worshipping, encouraging, learning and loving, wives are delighted, children are blessed, and society benefits. We are taking this Sunday to look at God's design for godly fathers.

b. Dad learns to show compassion (Psalm 103.13)
c. Dad learns to discipline (Proverbs 29:17, Hebrews 12:7)
d. Children learn from Dad’s example:

Ahaziah did evil like his father Ahab (2 Chron. 22:4)Abijah followed his father's example (1 Kings 15:1-3)
Amaziah did right in God's sight, but not wholeheartedly (2 Chron. 25:2) Uzziah followed his father's steps (2 Chron. 26:4)
